Rose Martodam

April 11, 1927 — May 17, 2019

Wadena, MN

Rose (Seifert) Martodam, of Wadena, MN, went to her heavenly home on May 17, 2019.

Rose was born April 11, 1927, in Perham, MN to Alex and Louise (Fiedler) Seifert.  On June 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to George Paul Martodam at St. Joseph Catholic Church in rural Perham.  They raised 10 children on their family farm.  They enjoyed close friendships, dancing most weekends and visiting relatives and neighbors frequently.

In 1971 they moved to Wadena, MN.  Rose worked at Wadena School in the cafeteria where she became lifelong friends with her fellow coworkers.  She enjoyed sewing for family, cooking, and entertaining many guests, both family and friends. She was active in Christian Mothers, church service circles, VFW Auxiliary and volunteering at the hospital.  Above all, Rose cherished her family, close friends and her faith.

Visitation is Tuesday, May 21, 5 to 8 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, MN.  Rosary at 6:45, parish prayers at 7:00 pm.  The funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham.

Rose will be deeply missed by her children Don (Joy), Hawley, MN; Paul (Linda), Sun City, AZ;  Jim Moorhead, MN; Mary (Virgil) Jorgenson, Wadena, MN;  John (Sue), Perham, MN; Bill (Kari Christianson), Detroit Lakes, MN; Dennis (Karen), Plymouth, MN; Annette Hadeed, Wadena, MN; Cheryl (Kevin) LaBarre, Wadena, MN; Rita (Bob) Stelzer, Detroit Lakes, MN;  28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brothers Paul and Dan, Scottsdale, AZ.

Loved ones waiting for her in heaven are her beloved husband George (1998); parents Alex and Louise; sister Mary; brothers John, Carl and Leon Seifert; and daughters-in-law Sandi and Becky.

Rose was the epitome of unconditional love and will be sorely missed by all.  How blessed we are to have had a mother and grandmother so lovely that saying goodbye feels so difficult. Heaven is brighter today, welcoming one who was so beloved here on earth.
