Brian Scheer

Brian James Scheer, age 61 of Ottertail, Minnesota passed away on November 2, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Brian’s faith and love of God got him through his difficult journey.

Brian was born on October 27, 1958 in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Wahpeton, North Dakota. After graduation, Brian enlisted in the United States Air Force (August 1978 – January 2001). He served over 22 years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Then he attended NDSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007. Brian was employed by Otter Tail Power Company (2007-2019).

Brian enjoyed family, fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, reading and his golden retriever “Stella”. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Fergus Falls Chapter #25.

Brian is survived by his wife Pam; parents Arthur James “Jim” and Diane (Buus) Scheer; sister Kathryn “Kay” (Mark) Wallis; nieces Kara (Joe) Barr, Lindsay Wallis and Mari (Harrison) Olk; aunts and uncles Roland (Lucille) Buus, Virginia (Clark) Fluto and Patrick (Maria) Connolly; along with numerous cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 on Saturday, November 16 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, Minnesota. Military honors and lunch will follow the service. Reverend Amy Strom will be officiating.
